About The Dentist
Dr. Preston Hamrick, DMD
Dr. Hamrick grew up in the Upstate of South Carolina and is a fourth generation dentist in his family. His great-grandfather and grandfather served the Charleston community for over fifty years, beginning in 1930. His father, who is a practicing periodontist in Greenville for 30 years, was very influential in his decision to become a dentist. Observing how much he enjoyed his work through the years had a strong impact on his career decision.
Dr. Hamrick really enjoys the personal aspect of dental practice. Practicing dentistry at a pace that allows him to provide excellent care, while at the same time getting to know his patients on a more personal level, is a significant part of his practice philosophy. He strives for his patients to have a comfortable and positive dental experience, including adequate time for them to discuss any of their questions or concerns regarding their dental needs. He is passionate about helping patients achieve an esthetically pleasing smile while at the same time maintaining excellent dental health.
Dr. Hamrick graduated Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina with a degree in philosophy. After working for several years after college, Dr. Hamrick was accepted to dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2008. Since graduating in 2012, he has continued to advance his dental knowledge by taking courses at some of the most prestigious dental institutes across the country. These include programs at Spear Education in Scottsdale, Arizona and the Kois Center in Seattle, Washington, where he is currently working on completing their graduate level curriculum. While the state of South Carolina requires only 14 hours per year of continuing education, Dr. Hamrick currently averages 90 plus hours of continuing education per year.
